Geo-Environmental is proud to contribute to major infrastructure developments through safe, efficient, and technically advanced drilling services. Our involvement in the Hamilton LRT Project highlights our ability to perform in high-demand urban environments under complex conditions.
This project required precision drilling alongside strict safety protocols, particularly due to its location near active transportation corridors, including work conducted along Highway 403. Night shifts were essential to minimize disruption, requiring careful planning, coordination, and adaptability from our field crews.
Safety remained central throughout the project. Our team maintained full responsibility for crew safety, ensuring all procedures were followed and risks were effectively managed—especially during nighttime operations and in high-traffic areas.
Technical Approach
The drilling program called for both technical expertise and adaptability to challenging subsurface conditions. Work included:
- Casing advance drilling to depths of up to 130 feet
- Bedrock coring to support geotechnical analysis
- Management of low-flow artesian groundwater conditions
- Controlled drilling techniques to maintain borehole integrity
All boreholes were sealed in strict accordance with Ontario Regulation 903, ensuring environmental protection and full compliance with provincial standards.
Overall, the Hamilton LRT Project demonstrates Geo-Environmental’s ability to execute complex drilling programs safely and efficiently in demanding, high-visibility infrastructure environments. Our commitment to safety, technical excellence, and regulatory compliance ensures consistent, reliable results—no matter the scope or conditions.
